Vegan Gyudon (caramalised tofu curd ) Recipe


Gyudon (caramalised beef) on rice is a very popular Japanese dish. I used tofu curd instead of beef to make it vegan. It takes only 5 minutes to make so once you make it, I am sure it will become your regular dish. It is rediculously delicious!

Ingredients (to make 2-3 servings)
* 3 pieces tofu curd (aburaage) cut into quarters - around 50g


* 1 small onion - thinly sliced
* 1 knob of garlic - finely chopped
* 1 tbsp sesame oil
* 50ml SAORI Tsuyu (Seaweed) Japanese Sauce
* 1 tbsp brown sugar
* 1 cup cooked koshi/sushi rice


garnish - optional
* 1 spring onion - finely chopped
* pinch of SAORI YUZU SPICE

Vegan Gyudon Recipe
1:simmer garlic in sesame oil until golden brown
2:add onion to pan and continue to cook for a further few minutes


3:meanwhile to make sauce, mix SAORI Tusyu Sauce & brown sugar in a separate dish
4:once onion is cooked, add tofu curd and then pour on the sauce
5:cook until tofu curd is nicely caramalised


6:serve on rice


(sushi rice goes best with this dish)
7:garnish with spring onion and a dash of SAORI YUZU SPICE...for that extra zing!
